The Omegex was born within the Red Hole of Dargalla after enough energy was absorbed to give the creature life. It was designed by the Kryihd to exterminate their hated enemies, the Dargallans,
and then be destroyed after its mission was completed. The Dargallans
altered the Red Hole, ensuring once the Omegex returned to it the
process would begin again. Eventually a new Omegex was born, and the
Kryihd felt its wrath. Having destroyed both races the Omegex would
select random targets and annihilated several species until such a time
the Watchers
chose to break their vow of non-interference and move the Red Hole of
Dargalla outside the galaxies where it would take much longer to gather
the energy needed to create the Omegex, but it was a process that could
only be slowed and not halted. Possibly sensing the Omegex was about to
return, Uatu the Watcher
abandoned his post on Earth and traveled to the Red Hole to witness its
birth. Once the Omegex came forth it detected an energy signature on
Uatu from when he came into physical contact with the Red Hulk. The Omegex found its next target and immediately left the Red Hole, headed for Earth. It was briefly delayed when the Norrak attacked, but it exterminated the remainder of their species before continuing on its way.
Hell yeah!
ReplyDeleteOmegex is one powerhouse who I'd love to see go head-to-head with the Hulk! I think for the battle to have the best results in terms of epic destruction and devastation, it should take place on an alien planet or enviroment, that way neither planet-smasher has to hold back. I could see their conflict breaking a planet to pieces.
However, I wonder, if Hulk were to strike Omegex with extreme force, enough to shatter it (like he did to Onsalught, whose power and armor were Celestial level) would it release the souls/lifeforce of all those beings that were wiped out by the Omegex?
It's certainly an interesting question, one that I wouldn't mind finding out. If only Mark Waid and Marvel had enough sense to give us fans these epic confrontations. I mean, the title of the comic is 'Indestructible Hulk', so shouldn't he be proving that Hulk is worthy of the title and that of the Strongest One There Is?! I know I would if I were writing. As of yet, we have yet to see the unstoppable force of nature/nuclear arsenal capable of splitting planets that Mark Waid promised us.
Now if only Jeff Parker or Jonathan Hickman were writing the title. At least the summary for Indestructible Hulk #12 sounds a bit promising, if only because it may lead to Hulk being intelligent again (I won't hold my breath on that one, though).

From Jeff Parker's run Omegex's outer shell can be penetrated. Black Fog was able to do it. But it showed no effect on Omegex. Black Fog stood no chance even with Rulk's help. And if Green Hulk faced Omegex it could look different then it did against Rulk. Omegex has no weakness shown thus far. So far he seems just as durable as Juggernaut. He doesn't talk, make idol boast..he just destroys what ever is in his path.
