Mark Waid set on bringing back Abomination

Waid: Some of the Hulk-centric villains we'll be doing more with. I think the Abomination is overdue for a reintroduction. As far as other versions of Hulk, this is something Jason Aaron is doing really well with his "Thor: God of Thunder" book right now, and so I'm really nervous about treading on that ground.

Don't know how I feel about Waid touching one of Hulk's most iconic foes. Will Mark erase Emil's struggles and tribulations? Last we seen of Abomination he was extremely enhanced by The Chaos King and giving the Green Scar a run for his money. I am willing to bet my last dollar that most Hulk fans including myself enjoyed Emil back amped and stronger then Hulk. That has always been Abomination's vice. He was twice as strong as Hulk. So I was pleasantly surprise to see Emil back to his old self to some extent in Chaos War. Chaos War Abomination wouldn't go down so easy to Rulk..unless Ross used his absorption powers to level the playing field. What is Mark's plan for Emil? How does he plan to bring him back from the dead? Or will Emil show up as if Chaos War never happened?

So Mr. Waid might of stuck his foot in his mouth by mentioning he is considering bringing Emil back. Let's face it..a lot of Hulk fans are scrutinizing Waid's work more now. Especially since he has not referenced PAD, Pak, Bruce Jones or Aaron's work.  In a sense he has time traveled back before them and seems to stop his time machine before Bill Mantlo's era.  I am all for Abomination making another return...just be ready Mark to fix those loose ends when writing him. By mentioning Planet Hulk, World War Hulk and Chaos War.

  1. Mr. Waid isn't going to be able to ignore Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, Fall of the Hulks/World War Hulks or Chaos War when it concerns Abomination. If he does, he'll be at the fans mercy. Will he be able to pull of writing the return of Emil? I'm not certain. If one takes in his knowledge of Hulk/Banner, their past and history, and the last 9 issues... then I would say we're in trouble.

And, yes, Abomination always did start out twice as strong/powerful as Hulk, but that would change as the battle went on. It would be cool if he's as formidable as he was in Chaos War, with the amped strength and hellfire abilities. One cool way to bring him back would be if he's possessed by the demon Zom (the struggle for control alone would make it interesting)! Or if Hydra and AIM bring him back to life, upgraded and more powerful than ever.

There's so much that can be done! The question is: Will Mark Waid be able to pull off resurrecting Abomination without angering the diehard fans in regards to continuity?
